TEAM INFORMATION

Registration for RETURNING teams will begin March 1, 2011

Registration for NEW teams will begin March 15, 2011

REGISTRATION: If you have not already paid your $150 entry fee, please make your check payable to “Jewish Alliance of Greater RI”. You cannot begin cooking until your entry fee is paid!

TEAM MEMBERS: Each team will receive four tickets for team members' entry into the cook - off on the day of the event and four t-shirts. Cooking/serving areas should be limited to four (4) team members at a time. Team members must wear a head covering (i.e. hat) and gloves while cooking.

MEAT INGREDIENTS: All meat must be ordered through the RIKCC Kosher Committee, you must specify ground beef, ground turkey or soy bits. This must be done immediately. Time is critical due to the 25 teams that will be participating.  Order form for meat is available here.

UTENSILS: Each team will receive a burner, 80 qt. pt, a smaill cutting board, 2 knives, a 14 “ serving spoon, disposable aluminum pans and pot holders. If you want to bring additional utensils, they must be in brand new – unopened and sealed packages, labeled with your team name. These must be brought to the Jewish Alliance of Greater RI to be mikvatized by May 25, 2011 with no exceptions! So please do not ask!

PUBLICITY: Urge your institution to support your team and the event. Fliers are available and can be given to your members. We ask you to please "talk up" the event to your particular organization. Word of mouth is our best publicity! Each team will make their own signage for the day of the event and are highly encouraged to decorate their booth to promote their agency and the deliciousness of their chili.

SOUVENIRS: T-shirts, aprons, oven mitts and hats will be available for sale.

CONCESSIONS/FOOD ITEMS: The ever-popular hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, sodas, bottled water, Pepto Bismol and Tagamet will be available for purchase at the event.

CLEAN UP AND STORAGE OF UTENSILS: Each team will be responsible for the cleaning and storing of their utensils and bring their burner & pot to the Jewish Alliance of Greater RI kitchen after the cook-off. The utensils must be cleaned in the Alliance's kitchen and given to the committee for storage.
